Welcome to Marc Carson Courage Artistry: I work across oil, watercolor, charcoal, pastel, Acrylic, and ink because the subject, not the market, tells me how to paint it. Street portraits, worn houses, bristlecone trees, small towns, and city edges—these are places and people I’ve met in the weather of real life. Plein air lets me take the air’s measure; studio time lets me say what the moment meant. Style shifts—realism or expressionism—because feeling isn’t one-size-fits-all. I’m not chasing a brand; I’m keeping faith with what’s in front of me and what’s inside of me. At 69, with a lifetime of looking, I trust the inner voice to choose the tool and the touch. Each painting is a record of attention, a way to keep a lived moment on the wall.
"As an artist, I strive to convey the essence of life, people, and landscapes through my work. Whether it's the dynamic streetscapes or the intricate details of nature, each piece is a journey into the heart of visual storytelling."
"Art to me is a journey. I don't follow other people's rules and, at times, have become an outcast. I believe in my abilities and listen to that quiet voice inside. At times, my work has been eclectic, but it's my voice. I will continue to develop through this journey. Hopefully, you will find some value in my work."
